Logistics Apprentice Challenge
March 6, 2018 | By Matthew Tyldesley | No Comments
Schools from the Cheshire area arrived at Weston Road this morning to take part in our annual Apprentice Challenge.
As part of National Apprenticeship week, we’ve invited 4 different schools to visit our logistics operation to educate them on Logistics and set them a challenge to change our operation for the better.
The prize? A weeks’ worth of work experience for 4 lucky students that will hopefully add some logistics sparkle to their blossoming CV’s.
The Challenge
With over 900 self-employed drivers in AO Logistics, making sure they are all informed and aligned with the company is no small task. So we’ve split the schools into mixed groups and challenged them to come up with an app for the driver’s smartphone that would be a 1 stop shop for everything they need.
Each team is given materials to work with, along with one of our current apprentices for guidance, and the best ideas will be taken forward to see if we can develop them for real.
We’ll update you soon with more pictures and the winning ideas, and we wish everyone the best of luck!
